Meet Lucinda Henry

Lucinda Henry has been a resident of Brazoria County for 40 years. She moved to the county at the age of five, graduated from Brazoswood High School, and has spent nearly her entire life building relationships, raising a family, serving local residents, and investing in the community she calls home.

For the past 20 years, Lucinda has cared for children and families throughout Brazoria County as a physician assistant. She is also a wife, mother, small-business owner, and community advocate. Her life and career have been shaped by service, responsibility, faith, and a strong belief that people deserve to be heard, respected, and treated fairly.

Now, Lucinda is bringing that same commitment to her campaign for Brazoria County Judge.

Twenty Years of Caring for Local Families

Since 2006, Lucinda has practiced pediatric medicine, caring for generations of Brazoria County children and families. Her patients have trusted her during some of their most stressful and uncertain moments, and she has always regarded that responsibility with the highest level of care.

Her medical career has required sound judgment, compassion, attention to detail, and the ability to make important decisions under pressure. She has learned to listen carefully before reaching conclusions, communicate difficult information clearly, protect sensitive information, coordinate with multiple professionals, and remain accountable for every decision she makes.

Healthcare has also given Lucinda a firsthand understanding of the challenges facing local families, including rising costs, access to care, mental health concerns, substance use, family instability, and gaps in community resources.

Throughout her career, Lucinda has also helped educate and mentor future healthcare professionals by serving as a clinical preceptor for physician assistant and nurse practitioner students. She believes leadership is not simply about holding a title. It is about setting standards, developing others, and accepting responsibility for outcomes.

Education and Financial Experience

Lucinda earned her Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Sciences from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 2004. She returned to UTMB and completed her Master of Physician Assistant Studies in 2006.

In 2023, Lucinda earned a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in accounting from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi.

Her education reflects the combination of skills she would bring to county leadership: analytical decision-making, financial discipline, operational oversight, and a deep understanding of how policies and budgets affect real people.

Lucinda believes county officials have a responsibility to carefully review budgets, contracts, debt, long-term obligations, and major expenditures. Taxpayers deserve leaders who understand the financial decisions before them and can explain those decisions openly and honestly.

Small-Business Leadership

Alongside her husband, Kevin, Lucinda has helped build and operate local small businesses. That experience has involved managing employees, customers, vendors, equipment, contracts, cash flow, regulatory requirements, and the economic uncertainty faced by many business owners.

Running a small business teaches accountability in a direct way. Decisions affect employees, customers, families, and whether the business can continue operating. There is no room to ignore financial realities or avoid responsibility when challenges arise.

Lucinda understands how government decisions can either encourage responsible growth or create unnecessary burdens for local employers and working families. Her business and accounting experience would bring a practical perspective to county budgeting, contracting, procurement, economic development, and long-term planning.

Community and Civic Involvement

Lucinda’s service extends beyond her medical practice and businesses. She has supported community health and prevention efforts, mentored students, participated in church and civic service, and worked to help families access information and resources.

She also helped manage her husband’s previous campaign for Brazoria County Sheriff. Through that experience, she gained direct knowledge of campaign planning, grassroots organization, voter engagement, communications, and the responsibilities involved in running a local campaign.

Lucinda and her husband have also helped form and manage political action committees focused on community involvement, government accountability, and keeping residents informed about local issues. This work has given her experience with organizational governance, campaign finance responsibilities, public communication, and the importance of operating transparently.

Her civic involvement has led her to study local government more closely, review public records, attend public meetings, listen to residents, and examine how decisions are made within Brazoria County.

Why Lucinda Is Running

Lucinda did not enter this race because she wanted to become a career politician. She entered because she believes Brazoria County needs independent leadership grounded in accountability, transparency, sound judgment, and service.

She believes the county judge must be prepared to oversee complex budgets, work with multiple departments and elected officials, respond during emergencies, evaluate difficult information, and communicate honestly with the public.

Although Lucinda has not previously held elected office, she has spent her career developing the skills necessary to lead: careful decision-making, financial oversight, crisis management, teamwork, communication, and accountability.

She is running to bring real-world experience to county government and to ensure that decisions are made in the best interest of the people of Brazoria County.

Lucinda and Kevin are the proud parents of two sons. Their faith, family, and commitment to service remain central to their lives.
